Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai

T his post is dedicated to introducing my Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai . I have made this podcast with an intention to connect to people through my voice. This is not only a means of sharing my views and stories with the world but is also a medium to talk to myself.   A podcast is a good medium to connect with people as it does not demand the attention of your eyes; all it wants from you is to lend your ears. Often when you are commuting on a bus or in a metro, listening to a podcast can be a great idea: All you need is an earphone and bingo! My Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai has a Trailer as an introduction and episodes that are published from time to time. All the episodes so far have been archived below with dedicated links for one-click listening. Also, it is my humble request to leave your valuable feedback and comments on this post or on my  Instagram page   https://www.instagram.com/neoimaginations/     Twitter handle  Bus Kahani Hai              Latest Episodes Episode 4 : Khidki Ke Baa

The Saviour.

Are you of the opinion that there are 100 % safe cities for women  in the world ? But flat reality is that there are none. No city is completely a safe city. The safety is brought in by the law enforcing department and primarily by law abiding citizens. But more than the fear of law it is the self conscious of people, their morality that can bring a phenomenal change in the environment we live in. An environment that we can proudly call as Safe For Women. The change I am talking about is a very slow change and will take its own course of time. Till then we have The smart Suraksha App. An Android Application that aims at making the women feel safe. This App, at the press of a single button, sends your message of help to five pre-chosen contacts from your contact list. An additional feature of this app is that along with your message for help, it also sends across your location even if the GPS on your cellphone is switched off. Thus, the women can be reassured that there is help available at all times.

The application is an answer to many unfortunate incidents and heinous crimes that have happened to women in the recent times. These crimes could have been avoided if the help from Police and family was readily available on time. But such horrifying moments often freeze our presence of mind. We see the end of our world much before it has actually happened. That is when we realize how one human being can be the most dangerous threat to another human being. Human turned devil is the devilish of all. And in hallucination of this fear we give up ourselves to situation. The rest becomes a news we watch on televisions as breaking news and thank God that it did not happen to us. But nobody is immune. Its happening next door; Its happening to someone we know remotely; Its happening to us in short. I have one such nightmare to share, when i felt ‘I wish I had Smart Suraksha with me’

It was 21 Jun 2013, the day "Raanjhanaa" was released. Because my wife was 7 months pregnant then, i could not refuse her when she expressed a desire to watch this movie. The movie was a houseful and all i could manage was a 9 to 11 pm show for the night. We had a romantic drive, a romantic dinner and finally a romantic movie. The movie was special as we knew we would not be able to watch another movie in a hall because the Delivery date was coming near.  After the movie got over we straight way headed for the parking lot to drive back home. We were on a bike. The initial 5 mins ride was smooth and pleasant with cool breeze doing its magic. But then came a stretch of road that was lonely and dark. At midnight the road looked abandoned and eventually something happened that should not happen to anyone. We were chased by three middle aged men. They knew every minute detail of this road. It was devoid of patrolling police vehicles and people. They came parallel to us and showed hands to stop the bike. I did not know what to do. At one thought i wanted to stop and hit these guys. I knew their intentions were bad. My sixth sense smelled it. But I was not alone. I was supposed to act intelligently because I had the responsibility of my wife and also a life inside her womb. My wife did not lose her cool and she insisted me to race the bike in the highest speed possible. She asked me to create a physical distance with them. I chose her decision. Meanwhile she rang up emergency number 100 from her cell phone. As usual it was not answered on time. The race for life was on. Then she tried 108 ambulance service and gave our location and pleaded them to coordinate with local patrolling police party. Those guys came handy and with in 1 min we got a call back from local police inquiring and assuring our safety. But our prompt action and cell phone conversations sent a strong message to the miscreants and they took a clean U-turn. On the next signal we got the police jeep that came to our rescue. They safely escorted us to our door step. We thanked them and thanked the almighty above for saving us from something that could have been the worst moment of life.

Today when I am writing this post, I still feel the fear and helplessness that we faced on that night. I wish we had a special app like The Smart Suraksha App to encounter this incident more efficiently and conveniently. Because if by mere press of a button you can alert 5 most needful people on time with your position indication there is less to fear about. The fear would then pass to the one who is trying to harm you, harass you. You will have the confidence to face the situation without surrendering in absence of help and assistance. The Smart Suraksha App is surly a blessing for all of us. A true saviour.

I am participating in the Seeking Smart Suraksha contest at BlogAdda.com in association with Smart Suraksha App.
