Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai

Image
T his post is dedicated to introducing my Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai . I have made this podcast with an intention to connect to people through my voice. This is not only a means of sharing my views and stories with the world but is also a medium to talk to myself.   A podcast is a good medium to connect with people as it does not demand the attention of your eyes; all it wants from you is to lend your ears. Often when you are commuting on a bus or in a metro, listening to a podcast can be a great idea: All you need is an earphone and bingo! My Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai has a Trailer as an introduction and episodes that are published from time to time. All the episodes so far have been archived below with dedicated links for one-click listening. Also, it is my humble request to leave your valuable feedback and comments on this post or on my  Instagram page   https://www.instagram.com/neoimaginations/     Twitter handle  Bus Kahani Hai              Latest Episodes Episode 4 : Khidki Ke Baa

Am your Friend but with a Guilt

Life would have been easy if heart and mind echoed each other. But the very problem is that both seldom work in tandem and love to contradict most of the times. That is when the situation becomes tough to tackle and we end up doing things that we either adore or repent later.                       Here is a story of Biju and Anvesh, who were closest of the friends but things changed that evening for ever between them. Both were class V students, studying in KV Coimbatore  in the year 1996 and were fast friends. The story is written in Biju s voice to reduce the vicarious factor.             It was evening 5 pm and as Anvesh's father just returned from Chennai . Anvesh called me (Biju)  up and asked me to come home. I walked the stone throw away distance playing football with the pebbles on the road. As i greeted Uncle and Aunty, Anvesh took me to his room to show something exciting he had. I was awestruck when i saw beautiful

Bangalore was just 20 miles away and train stopped at an unknown Railway station near Whitefield area. He an unknown man, who was watching and observing me for quite some time now came to me. Without wasting a second he asked me the time and started the conversation that follows. He : This train will not start in another 15 mins also. Me:  (Just nodded) Guess so! He: Where are you coming from ? Me: New Delhi. He: Very far indeed. Must be really tired. Me: Hmm... He: What is your name ? Are you from Bangalore ? Me: (Lied) I am Peter Parker.  He: Oh ! A Christian. Me too. James  Me: (with a smile ) Good.         ( I know if i had told him my name as Ehsaan, he would have told me he is Qureshi and a Muslim.) He: I was on my way to Mumbai and damn lost my purse. DISCLAIMER ! The Indian Way.

Image
Of lately the television media and film industry is completely obsessed with " Disclaimer" tag as a preface to the shows to be aired. Nothing can reach the viewers until and unless a Disclaimer notice is shown  as a first shot. The hero smokes a cigarette in a movie and before it is lighted the disclaimer script will run beneath the screen and read as " Smoking or chewing of Tobacco is injurious to health". Is nt that pathetic ? Who the hell ,watching the movie doesn't know that million dollar fact ? We all know what is good, what is bad. what is healthy and what is unhealthy.Does it stop anybody from adopting what he or she likes in the movie (good or bad) ? Why aren't the filmmakers taking the responsibility of what they are trying to show or sell ? Why are they just trying to clear their  hands by hoisting a "Disclaimer Flag".  Do we think that Disclaimers can devoid the flaws of wrong depiction
