Anything for you, My love.

Tanya never paid any heed to Kapil s shaving rituals. She felt Kapil had a perfect face to sport all types of beard and mustache although she preferred him in a clean shave.

When Tanya became mother of a beautiful girl, Kapil was mad with happiness. He was a crazy father. But some how the little baby had problems with Kapil. She never embraced Kapil s kisses and hugs like she enjoyed Tanya s shower of love. Kapil could only bestow his love from a safe distance. The baby feared Kapil s presence, till one day Kapil sported a completely clean shaven look. That day changed the whole equation  between father and the little daughter. Kapil s hugs and kisses were reciprocated by the little angel with giggles of laughter and smiles. That very moment the couple understood what annoyed the baby. It was Kapil s smelly spiky stubble, that played villain between the duo.

Oh my God !  My clean shaven look bowled her over ...  Exclaimed Kapil with joy.
Anything for you my love, said Kapil.

When it comes to our children we never compromise. We sacrifice our old habits at the slightest excuse for them. And of course, maintaining a clean shaven look was not as difficult. After all your baby s love is a good bargain for quitting old habits.

Since then, Kapil follows a daily ritual of shaving and maintained a clean shaven look. And as they say, the rest is a history.

To be Clean, Keep it Clean.

Sooner puberty knocked my door, I had the luxury of soft facial hair growth in the form of beard and mustaches. It was difficult to handle. I wasn't  prepared for it. In those days anything that pulled my mind out of books was labelled trouble. Sometimes I used a pair of scissors to trim it but the more I trimmed the better it grew.

SI P Sharma
Time paced too fast. I joined Police Force. A perfect clean shave was like part of my uniform. Every morning I shaved more religiously than I took bath. I don't know anything else that I have done as punctually as maintaining a clean shave on my uniform. Nothing compliments a stiff perfect fitting uniform more than a clean shave look. In the following years I developed intense love and liking for clean shave. It is by now a tradition for me to shave every morning like brushing my teeth.

Last month I was on a month long holiday and decided to sport a stubble for a change. It was just  two days skipping of my decade long tradition of shaving. But I was already restless to handle it. I felt itchy and unclean. Un-groomed for that matter. It gave me a feeling that I am sick and unwell. It gave me a stale like feeling. My morning shower no longer convinced me that I am neat and tidy. I gave up the idea of having a stubble at that very moment and had a clean shave to regain my peace and confidence. All I know now is that I hate that unclean stubble. Nothing compares to a clean shaved face. The Police Force gave me a tradition that was indeed tough to adopt but even tougher to quit and live without. I am glad that even women feel the same. "No Shave is No bath" for a lot of women across the world.

Gift your Child with..

We all want to gift our children with a world of things. From favourite toys to expensive schools, from high end gadgets to super bikes. The list would never end. But if I am asked to quote 5 things that I would want to gift my child with, what it would be ? The choices become tough and thoughtful. A question that every parent s mind should ponder with. May be we all should share our choices to choose the 5 best gifts for our children.
Gifts for children

Without much of thinking  the 5 gifts for my child would be:

1. Quality Time: The first thing I would want to gift my child with would be a lot of quality time. In an attempt to bestow everything, we deprive our children of the most important gift they deserve; Our quality time. So I would struggle, strive and sought time for my child.

2. High moral values: If I give time, I will surely be able to inculcate high moral values like love, companionship, honesty, integrity, kindness and humbleness. A man without moral values is like a ice cream without flavour.

3. Good Education: Education is the best legacy that you can gift your child with. Nothing compares to it. Education brings class, prosperity, confidence and identity to your child s life. It would remain with him all his life.

4. Good Health: For a healthy future one must have good mental and physical health. I would gift my child with good over all health by teaching him healthy lifestyle, healthy food and healthy thought. I would ensure that he eats a balanced diet and spends good time on out door sports.

5. Investment: There is not everything that money can buy. But nevertheless we need decent money to secure our children s future. Good education and good health is closely dependent upon my financial investments. With inflation rate breaking all records, it is high time for every responsible parent to invest in child investment plans like Children Education plans and Insurance plans. There are a plethora of plans for children to choose from. This webpage would help you to choose one that suits your needs. 1001 Gifts Activity by HDFC Life .

Dust and Gold - A Mystery

Dust and Gold.         Neoimaginations Copyright
When you cannot see anything, when you cannot shout, when you are nowhere; You are somewhere. Somewhere, don't know where but where darkness is a color. Dead darkness. And you strain your eyes to know what lies behind the darkness behind the black. The more you see nothing, the more you quench to know more. The more you quench for more the more you try to fathom. Where knowing nothing is a bless, where knowing something is a burden. Where zero is a stage you strive to achieve. Zero is powerful. Zero is a goal. When you have everything you will know what it means to own zero; to own nothing absolutely nothing. From a desire to having a desire to have no desire at all.

A content being. Satiated. No sorrows yet no laugh. You smile but you are not happy. But you are not sad as well. It's just being a zero. A perfect zero. It's not a perfect hundred and yet a perfect hundred. A perfect zero.

If you lack pain buy one. If you are full of pains, shop some happiness. But kill the excess. Balance the two till the net is a Zero. Zero is the balance. Aim a Zero balance. Colors are deviations. Deviations are being away from Zero. Zero is darkness. Darkness is no color. No color is a zero color. Taste the colorless. The darkness. The Zero. Dust is gold, gold is dust sometimes. When you don't know dust, when you know no gold ; You know what it means to know nothing. That is when you know everything. Dust and Gold. Dust in Gold. Gold in Dust.

Fit and Fine, Jiyo 99.

Foundation of good health is laid much before  we come into this world. It all starts when we are in our mother s womb. Her diet, her lifestyle, her state of mind, all has a favourable or an unfavourable implication on the new born s health. So a good health is actually handed over from a healthy mother to her baby. Her food intake should include a variety of fruits, vegetables, protein and minerals. Health supplements also help to maintain the additional requirements projected by the developing baby. The traditional ideology only encouraged carrying women to feed on diet rich in ghee and fats. But the modern science has shown a more logical and satisfactory picture of the diet an expecting mother should follow.

Sooner the baby builds its basic structure inside mother s womb, it prepares itself to see the outside world. This is the most challenging phase. The newborns are tender, delicate and very susceptible to infections. They have just started the journey of life and are not adapted to face the unfavourable challenges in the form of viral or bacterial infections. Babies less than two months old are very vulnerable to infections because they have a very weak immune system. One must avoid taking them out of house to places that are crowded and dusty. Babies should be avoided to come in contact with people who have common cold or viral flu infections. It is always suggested to wash and sanitize your hands before you go for those love and hugs you shower on your young ones. The best way to care for them is prevention. Prevention from infections, prevention from dust and prevention from people whom you don't find clean and tidy. Its often a challenge but all is fair when it comes to your baby.

Mother' s Milk is elixir for babies. The initial milk produced by mothers after delivery is called colostrum. No supplement in the world can substitute the million hidden benefits of this milk. It gives the newborn various immunity against bacteria, viruses and fungi. Babies should be breast fed for minimum one year. No formula food can supplement the benefits of mother s milk. It is free from external infections and chemical impurities. Has the right amount of fats, carbohydrates and other nutrition. The best part of mother milk is that it is fed to the baby at the best optimum temperature and without the use of any external medium.

Apart from mother s milk one more important aspect of adding immunity to your baby s life is through following a strict vaccination schedule plan. The WHO has listed mandatory vaccinations and these are a must for every child. Each vaccination has its own immunity against a particular disease or infection. Adherence to immunization schedule is a must.

Problems with modern Lifestyle.

Modern life style has introduced stress, nicotine and junk food into our lives. We indulge into it as comfortably as a customary obligation. With competition the game of survival has become dirty, as dirty as the air we breathe in. The by product is stress. Stress leads to harmonal changes in body often resulting in malfunctioning of hormonal glands and gifting us with common disease "obesity".

The modern lifestyle has extreme negative implications on children s health. Some of the aspects that hinder in the growth and development of children are listed below.

(a) Say no to junk food. Junk food makes children obese and lazy and hinder growth and development of children. Follow healthy eating habits.

(b) TV addiction and gaming: With the advent of million games and television shows children remain glued to screens. They don't play and interact with friends. In absence of sports and activities they lose a big deal on their physical and psychological health. Hence parents should encourage children to play outside and indulge in out door activities.

(c) Make your meal a balanced meal: Right food makes a right man is an old saying. Avoid too much oily and spicy food. Include dairy products like cheese, curd etc. Green leafy vegetables and fruits should be a daily ritual. Don't make your baby a burger pizza baby.

(d) Personal Hygiene: Children should be taught to practice personal hygiene. Washing hands before  and after eating. Healthy toilet habits. They should be taught to take bath daily.

Apart from this there is an age old Ayurvedic formula to enhance and build a stronger immune system to fight infections and diseases. The Dabur Chyawanprash  is a must for all age groups. It is available in different flavours to suit the taste of your young ones and elders. Also if you have diabetic parents at home the Dabur Chyawanprash also has a Sugar Free version. It is immunity in the most customized form. There is one for all age group.

My Experiments with Ayurveda.

Our children are our dreams. The most treasured possession known to mankind.  We leave no stone unturned to see them fit and healthy. A mere cold of your baby can robe you of your sleeps at night. We have zero tolerance when it comes to their health and development.

But this very sentiment is being used by the market to lure us with multiple products. The promotions can be very misleading at times. The Baby care industry is seen as enormous as beauty care industry. So in an era when commercial products promise more than they can actually deliver it becomes imperative for all of us to do an intensive research before we confidently expose our young ones to a particular brand or product.

My Experience - 1

Recently an uber-popular baby care brand was exposed to contain some really harmful chemicals in the name of fragrance as ingredient of the product. The news was a nightmare for all those parents who have been religiously using this brand for multiple products like Baby shampoo, baby wash and talcum powder.

The news also brought forth the fact that this brand had different versions of products for developing countries and developed countries. This brand was reported to contain hazardous cancer causing compounds on the name of added fragrance. Soon after the issue was brought out, the brand smartly removed those hazardous compounds in developed countries and used developing countries like India as a dumping ground for trading their lethal products to the most delicate lives, our babies.

We can blame many for the lapses of duties and responsibilities but   on an unfortunate day we will blame ourselves for any otherwise incidence. When it comes to our children parents are the custodian of their good health and well being.

After this incidence I was so much horrified that I started doubting every single brand. I confess that I have a phobia of chemical and synthetic products for my baby. I have a faith that nothing can benefit the young ones more than the healing and strengthening potential of herbs or Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is the ancient Indian system of natural and holistic medicine. When translated from Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “the science of life” (the Sanskrit root Ayur means “longevity” or “life” and veda means “science”).

While allopathic/ Chemical medicines tends to focus on the management of disease, Ayurveda bestows us with the knowledge of how to prevent disease and how to eliminate its root cause if it does occur.

Core Principles of Ayurveda
The knowledge of Ayurveda was passed orally through a lineage of sages in India until it was collated into text more than five thousand years ago. The oldest known texts on Ayurveda are the Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and the Ashtanga Hrudaya. These texts detail the affect that the five elements found in the cosmic system - earth, water, air, fire, space – have on our individual system, and expound on the importance of keeping these elements balanced for a healthy and happy life.

Importance of Ayurveda can be felt by the single line fact that it is free from side effects. Chemical/ Synthetic products how ever beneficial may be but is bound to have side effects as its aftermath. Some known some still unknown due to lack of research.Ayurveda supports health without disturbing the natural intelligence of the body; Ayurvedic treatments have no negative side affects. Because of this, people around the world are now turning to the ancient science of Ayurveda to help them regain and maintain optimal health.

My Experience - 2

After reading so much on Ayurveda and use of natural products and medicines like Neem, Turmeric, asafoetida , mustard oil, garlic etc. I wanted a massage oil that had all the benefits of herbs. My search came to an end when my very experienced mother suggested me to use Dabur Lal Tail as massage oil for my one month old son. Its results were magical. My baby started developing toned muscles and firm bones. I could feel the difference when I completed just a week of massage. Also my baby had better sleep patterns. Sleep is of paramount importance for good growth and development. This is my honest personal experience. As a father I would recommend all my readers to use and judge this oil themselves. You ll surely recommend other friends.

And the Universe Conspired.

Twelve months have passed and it’s the end of those several days,
We make our first, yeah our first anniversary day.

A walk over those many weeks, I see how we bridged those broken ways.
The walk was not smooth but was tough and testing ways.

It is our efforts and will to stay together, that brought this day
We promise to abide by what we have learnt in those several days.

Thank you sweetheart for finally making it happen this way.
Without our love and efforts this would never be the day.

As I write this post, I can see you and our baby sleeping comfortably with both his arms wide stretched. I know nothing compares to this eternal feeling. We the trio makes it a heaven s den. The giggle of our baby and our own conversations make it a home sweet home. But when I turn back the pages of my old diaries I see what not we did to make it happen this way, our way.

It is not about the saga of troubles and hardships that we faced and fought with to buy this life. It is also not about the patience and fortitude that we showed. It is also not about the guts and courage. It is about a mystical connection that held us together. It is about an intangible thread of closeness and faith that sailed us to the island of dreams and existence. It is about the communion. It is about being soul mates. And when you find the other half of you, nothing pulls you back. Nothing seems a struggle. Nothing seems big enough except the fact that you want to be together. We felt this mutually, symbiotically and naturally.

(From the pages of my diary)

“The more I think about you, the farther I get from myself. The more I dream you, the lesser I see the realities around. If I can touch you I cannot see you, if I can feel you I cannot leave you; If I can leave you I cannot be in myself. If it is a dream let it never go of my sleeps. Loving the sleeps I am into.”

The affinity for each other was growing intense day by day. I do not remember exactly when we decided to tie the knots. As for the unfavourable situations and lack of support we had a silent marriage. A marriage devoid of glitter, luxury, glamour, grandness and guests. Just you and me and few friends. My brother the only blood relation to witness the day. We vowed the fundamentals of marriage to be faithful ever and be there for each other for the everlasting times. The silence of our modest marriage was eclipsed with the happiness of realization that we were legally and socially united for life. It was Almighty s gift.

Then what followed were tough times of the questioning world and our own people. But love is the   universal answer to all that is unsettled and un-understood. We stood tall to face it all every day, every hour and every minute. Time was doing its magic. Healing and alleviating all that we thought was big to handle. Our faith and love was strong to deal with than the people who opposed us. The universe was secretly conspiring our dreams into reality. Our faith into tangible truths. Our patience into gifts of life. We were reaching the shore.

And then you happened. Your news was a step further. A new extension to our identity. A new extension to our relationship. Someone to our name. Our biggest legacy. A biological Taj Mahal of our unity and existence. And on 1st September, when I held you for the first time I knew it was a complete circle of life. You were born to bonafide us; authenticate our decision to live a life together. You were more than a son to us. You were a payback for all that we came through, passed through and survived through. So without a speck of doubt I would like to rechristened this day, my  Platinum Day of Love. Because the day is an epitome of our persistence, triumph, faith and everlasting love. The love that never fades with time like Platinum. A day as auspicious and as pious as the metal platinum. A day pure, rare and eternal. And for this day I want to live hundred lives with you.

This is my Platinum Day of Love. Describe yours at Indiblogger Contest on Platinum Day of Love. Check the link to celebrate your moment with the most apt metal " Platinum". To know more dip into Platinum Day Of Love

The Saviour.

Are you of the opinion that there are 100 % safe cities for women  in the world ? But flat reality is that there are none. No city is completely a safe city. The safety is brought in by the law enforcing department and primarily by law abiding citizens. But more than the fear of law it is the self conscious of people, their morality that can bring a phenomenal change in the environment we live in. An environment that we can proudly call as Safe For Women. The change I am talking about is a very slow change and will take its own course of time. Till then we have The smart Suraksha App. An Android Application that aims at making the women feel safe. This App, at the press of a single button, sends your message of help to five pre-chosen contacts from your contact list. An additional feature of this app is that along with your message for help, it also sends across your location even if the GPS on your cellphone is switched off. Thus, the women can be reassured that there is help available at all times.

The application is an answer to many unfortunate incidents and heinous crimes that have happened to women in the recent times. These crimes could have been avoided if the help from Police and family was readily available on time. But such horrifying moments often freeze our presence of mind. We see the end of our world much before it has actually happened. That is when we realize how one human being can be the most dangerous threat to another human being. Human turned devil is the devilish of all. And in hallucination of this fear we give up ourselves to situation. The rest becomes a news we watch on televisions as breaking news and thank God that it did not happen to us. But nobody is immune. Its happening next door; Its happening to someone we know remotely; Its happening to us in short. I have one such nightmare to share, when i felt ‘I wish I had Smart Suraksha with me’

It was 21 Jun 2013, the day "Raanjhanaa" was released. Because my wife was 7 months pregnant then, i could not refuse her when she expressed a desire to watch this movie. The movie was a houseful and all i could manage was a 9 to 11 pm show for the night. We had a romantic drive, a romantic dinner and finally a romantic movie. The movie was special as we knew we would not be able to watch another movie in a hall because the Delivery date was coming near.  After the movie got over we straight way headed for the parking lot to drive back home. We were on a bike. The initial 5 mins ride was smooth and pleasant with cool breeze doing its magic. But then came a stretch of road that was lonely and dark. At midnight the road looked abandoned and eventually something happened that should not happen to anyone. We were chased by three middle aged men. They knew every minute detail of this road. It was devoid of patrolling police vehicles and people. They came parallel to us and showed hands to stop the bike. I did not know what to do. At one thought i wanted to stop and hit these guys. I knew their intentions were bad. My sixth sense smelled it. But I was not alone. I was supposed to act intelligently because I had the responsibility of my wife and also a life inside her womb. My wife did not lose her cool and she insisted me to race the bike in the highest speed possible. She asked me to create a physical distance with them. I chose her decision. Meanwhile she rang up emergency number 100 from her cell phone. As usual it was not answered on time. The race for life was on. Then she tried 108 ambulance service and gave our location and pleaded them to coordinate with local patrolling police party. Those guys came handy and with in 1 min we got a call back from local police inquiring and assuring our safety. But our prompt action and cell phone conversations sent a strong message to the miscreants and they took a clean U-turn. On the next signal we got the police jeep that came to our rescue. They safely escorted us to our door step. We thanked them and thanked the almighty above for saving us from something that could have been the worst moment of life.

Today when I am writing this post, I still feel the fear and helplessness that we faced on that night. I wish we had a special app like The Smart Suraksha App to encounter this incident more efficiently and conveniently. Because if by mere press of a button you can alert 5 most needful people on time with your position indication there is less to fear about. The fear would then pass to the one who is trying to harm you, harass you. You will have the confidence to face the situation without surrendering in absence of help and assistance. The Smart Suraksha App is surly a blessing for all of us. A true saviour.

I am participating in the Seeking Smart Suraksha contest at in association with Smart Suraksha App.

ABCD of Being Right or Wrong !

This post is a Tangy Tuesday pick by
A world of right and wrong. A world of being good and bad , a world of sin and deeds; I am in search of a world, beyond being right or wrong. Beyond categories, beyond preferences and beyond moral validations."
Every night I go into a trance judging my own actions and decisions made over the day. It's a vast world and I am not the centre of this universe. I do my own rights and wrongs. Sometimes, I do things considering it as right and then with time I vet it as wrong or the vice versa. This is a regular process which everybody is going through. Judging themselves. Justifying themselves. But is that a solution to the internal war of mind and heart? There are actions that are right and there are actions that are wrong. But is there anything that is beyond the ambit or realm of being right or wrong? Is there a world beyond these two categories? And if the answer is no, then there should be one such world. There should be a moral space where we can stand, without being judged.

I silently ask myself about the existence of being right or wrong. Being morally correct or incorrect. I long to do things that please me; To act free of bearing the guilt of being wrong or taking the stride for being right. Is there a world beyond these two benchmarks? If yes; I want to be there. Play there till sunset for just being myself and not for being the right me or the wrong me. Take my decisions or more aptly do my 'will' because decisions are things that you decide to do under the light of correctness and not by heart and I m in no mood to make decisions. I want to be in a world of no norms, no sun no moon; A time beyond time, a timeless time.

For all these years, I have done things that were either right or wrong; Sin or Divine. But do I have the option of crossing the ambit and reaching the euphoria of just beyond the moral tenets(rules)? It is not often that I dream of this world but sometimes everyone wants to meet himself at a place where he is not right and where he is not wrong. He is just Himself and beyond the You.

There have been times when I felt like stealing myself from me to be with self or for self. But every time I do that, I bear the pain of not being available for someone who needs me more than I need myself. And then I give away myself to situations, people, circumstances and times. But at the end of the day, I find someone the most deprived; And I feel like laughing because that someone is ME. Who will pamper you if you don't pamper yourself? Never deny yourself. Understand your self that you need yourself more than others need you.

Sometimes it is not just about being right. It is about being happy and complacent though being a little wrong. And when you gain that share of your desired happiness, you can again go out on a walk to buy happiness for others at your own cost. That is how the equilibrium is maintained and you can prolong your ability to be more right by being wrong sometimes but happy at the same time.
