My Experiments with Ayurveda.
Our children are our dreams. The most treasured possession known to mankind. We leave no stone unturned to see them fit and healthy. A mere cold of your baby can robe you of your sleeps at night. We have zero tolerance when it comes to their health and development.
But this very sentiment is being used by the market to lure us with multiple products. The promotions can be very misleading at times. The Baby care industry is seen as enormous as beauty care industry. So in an era when commercial products promise more than they can actually deliver it becomes imperative for all of us to do an intensive research before we confidently expose our young ones to a particular brand or product.
My Experience - 1
Recently an uber-popular baby care brand was exposed to contain some really harmful chemicals in the name of fragrance as ingredient of the product. The news was a nightmare for all those parents who have been religiously using this brand for multiple products like Baby shampoo, baby wash and talcum powder.
The news also brought forth the fact that this brand had different versions of products for developing countries and developed countries. This brand was reported to contain hazardous cancer causing compounds on the name of added fragrance. Soon after the issue was brought out, the brand smartly removed those hazardous compounds in developed countries and used developing countries like India as a dumping ground for trading their lethal products to the most delicate lives, our babies.
We can blame many for the lapses of duties and responsibilities but on an unfortunate day we will blame ourselves for any otherwise incidence. When it comes to our children parents are the custodian of their good health and well being.
After this incidence I was so much horrified that I started doubting every single brand. I confess that I have a phobia of chemical and synthetic products for my baby. I have a faith that nothing can benefit the young ones more than the healing and strengthening potential of herbs or Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is the ancient Indian system of natural and holistic medicine. When translated from Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “the science of life” (the Sanskrit root Ayur means “longevity” or “life” and veda means “science”).
While allopathic/ Chemical medicines tends to focus on the management of disease, Ayurveda bestows us with the knowledge of how to prevent disease and how to eliminate its root cause if it does occur.
Core Principles of Ayurveda
The knowledge of Ayurveda was passed orally through a lineage of sages in India until it was collated into text more than five thousand years ago. The oldest known texts on Ayurveda are the Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and the Ashtanga Hrudaya. These texts detail the affect that the five elements found in the cosmic system - earth, water, air, fire, space – have on our individual system, and expound on the importance of keeping these elements balanced for a healthy and happy life.
Importance of Ayurveda can be felt by the single line fact that it is free from side effects. Chemical/ Synthetic products how ever beneficial may be but is bound to have side effects as its aftermath. Some known some still unknown due to lack of research.Ayurveda supports health without disturbing the natural intelligence of the body; Ayurvedic treatments have no negative side affects. Because of this, people around the world are now turning to the ancient science of Ayurveda to help them regain and maintain optimal health.
My Experience - 2
After reading so much on Ayurveda and use of natural products and medicines like Neem, Turmeric, asafoetida , mustard oil, garlic etc. I wanted a massage oil that had all the benefits of herbs. My search came to an end when my very experienced mother suggested me to use Dabur Lal Tail as massage oil for my one month old son. Its results were magical. My baby started developing toned muscles and firm bones. I could feel the difference when I completed just a week of massage. Also my baby had better sleep patterns. Sleep is of paramount importance for good growth and development. This is my honest personal experience. As a father I would recommend all my readers to use and judge this oil themselves. You ll surely recommend other friends.
