Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai

Image
T his post is dedicated to introducing my Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai . I have made this podcast with an intention to connect to people through my voice. This is not only a means of sharing my views and stories with the world but is also a medium to talk to myself.   A podcast is a good medium to connect with people as it does not demand the attention of your eyes; all it wants from you is to lend your ears. Often when you are commuting on a bus or in a metro, listening to a podcast can be a great idea: All you need is an earphone and bingo! My Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai has a Trailer as an introduction and episodes that are published from time to time. All the episodes so far have been archived below with dedicated links for one-click listening. ABCD of Being Right or Wrong !

Image
This post is a Tangy Tuesday pick by BlogAdda.com   "  A world of right and wrong. A world of being good and bad , a world of sin and deeds; I am in search of a world, beyond being right or wrong. Beyond categories, beyond preferences and beyond moral validations." Every night I go into a trance judging my own actions and decisions made over the day. It's a vast world and I am not the centre of this universe. I do my own rights and wrongs. Sometimes, I do things considering it as right and then with time I vet it as wrong or the vice versa. This is a regular process which everybody is going through. Judging themselves. Justifying themselves. But is that a solution to the internal war of mind and heart? There are actions that are right and there are actions that are wrong. But is there anything that is beyond the ambit or realm of being right or wrong? Is there a world beyond these two categories? And if the answer is no, then there should be one such world.

My Experiments with Bapu

Image
Mahatma Gandhi Born more than three decades after he breath his last on January 30, 1948, I had only known him through school text books or through people s admiration and prejudices. The repetitive  visibility of his iconic picture on every currency note and text-book made me remember his face more than anybody else face in this world. He was omnipresent and omnipotent. With my nascent and tender mind it did not take long for me to like this great man without understanding what he preached and practised. On every Independence Day and Republic Day speech in my school, I religiously added stuffs of his contribution to Indian saga of freedom. His name resonated with the words truth and non-violence. That was my first impression of this man. I was growing then. Having won Best in Academics at class seven during my schooling, I got  " The Story of My Experiments With Truth" (Gandhiji Autobiography) as prize. Seeing its weight and number of pages I decided to showca

Never Mind Yaar - Book Review

Image
" Never Mind Yaar " as a title, suggests that the book is going to be cool and  casual read to refresh mind. But that just remained a dream far achieved. Later, through half of the book i decided to take the title more seriously going by its literal meaning " Never Mind Yaar". A good book on the shelf to pick particularly if you are in your teens going through your college life. The book is conceived by K .Mathur. (K ?????) Golden Points: 1.  The book is basically a love story and optimally blended with friendship between three young girls from three different backgrounds -- Hindu, Parsi and Christian. 2. A story of youngsters for youngsters. 3. Simple read. 4. Has less characters in the story and also has a  very cosmopolitan approach. Grey Areas : 1. The book is honestly over priced at Rs. 350 keeping in mind the targeted readers have still not started earning. 2. The narration is poor and will surely test your patience. 3. The story has n

Mad for Each other ; Made for Each other

Few minutes past 2 am, 'Is that a time to meet the most special person of your life the first time ? But that is when we met. A moment of eye contact and I realized I was clean bold that very moment. A gentle touch and a warm kiss pregnant with emotions, happiness and love. This was our very first interaction when the world around was sleeping waiting for a dawn. After that i left you for few more hours but  your face kept on appearing before me at every single blink of eyes. I was loving it. I was loving your smell. I was loving that finally we met. I was loving that we will meet again. I was loving that we would be living together soon. I was loving the dream of a life with you.  You were me as I were you. Extension of my own self. Extension of my soul. Extension of my identity. Eternal, mystical, spiritual. My lessons on patience and responsibilities.  You relax me. You excite me.You are tender yet my strengt

My Aromatic Affairs.

Image
AmbiPur "My Aromatic Affairs"  is a poem  dedicated to my nostalgic memories associated with  smells, fragrances and aromas that I grew up with at home. There are some coveted ones i cannot recreate but the longingness still fills the void of their absence. My Aromatic Affairs Months piled together for the years to fold Those memories now, seem just a day old. When aroma of mom s morning tea urged to quit the bed and stand bold. The morning breakfast that began the days was a mix of love and nutrition in a way. But the smell of curry leaves and sputtering mustard , still reminds me of those nostalgic days.  Ending of annual exams brought smile with vacations to unwind for a while. The smell of fresh printed  pages of new textbooks , was like a cologne on a free trial. The cacophony of friends in the hall eagerly waiting to feast and hog. The aroma of Ammi's Eid Biriyani reaching neighbors, crossing the walls. Time then paced all too fast,

A Shade of Life

Image
I just sneaked out through the curtains of my bedroom to see if it was too hot to go out.  All I saw was this beautiful scene through my window. Two tired women labourers having a siesta on the construction site after hard laborious work for hours before lunch. As the sun was straight up, all they could manage was a little shade of the adjacent building. Atleast the dead building had some alive mercy for them. All day they fill concrete mortar with the spades lying next to them and carry it to build houses that they would never inhabit. Once the construction gets over the security guard would not even allow them to stand outside its gate to admire their own sweat and blood.   They would be clearly outcasted from its premises. The people who would enjoy the luxuries and comforts of this apartment building would not let these poor women to even enjoy an eye full sight of the legacy they built baking under heat and dust. These women would go into oblivion on the very first day the

The Tradition must continue...

Image
I always grew up with the idea that whatever we get from the world should be duly returned to society to complete the cycle of gratitude. I would not credit this piece of thought alone to my parents but also to those numerous good people who invested a lot of physical efforts to make it pragmatic for me. There is more we learn through books than we see it happening in reality. If all the good moral values were just a part of good books, nobody would have believed it amply to follow it in real life. But God gifted me with people worth emulating a lifetime. I was in IX std and Mr. & Mrs Saju were newly wed couple. Their interaction with my father prompted them to call me for guidance in English language. They were Malayali couple and had excellent command over English language. They dedicated one hour in the evenings to teach me English and never allowed me to return the favour through any means. One Alam Uncle too impressed by my performance in the school offered me to teac

Bigg Boss 7 -- Angel Devil Saat Saath

Image
Come 15 th September 13 and the TV would get its most doted reality show BiG BoSS season 7. The last season 6 was certainly alag 6 (che) with Imam doing his Insaaniyat-Hewaaniyat drama. However, cunning Urvashi Dholakia  took the trophy home. But it was Imam Siddique, the guy who took the show to its peak with his weirdest wits and acts . He was either hated or loved but never ignored. Seems his Devil -Angel side was such a show winner that season 7 made this dichotomy as their promotional theme.                                                        The show is the most anticipated shows of the year with high speculations and gossips on contestants. Like always this time too the list of contestant is secret. But here I bring to you the most talked about picks as contestants of Bigg Boss 7.  1. Amisha Patel 2. Smriti Irani 3. Poonam Pandey                     4. Sreesanth 5. Cyrus Broacha  6. Aditya Pancholi 7. Bharti 8. Pratyusha Banerjee 9. --------------- 10.--

The RayBan Effect

Image
Rayban Aviator (Photo credit: j_bouzas)      Nothing compares to a pair of RayBan Aviators. The intoxication and addiction of this eye gear is better not explained. I am also a part of this addiction. Close to 12 years of association with it, I never dared to wear anything other than a RayBan. It would be sacrilegious for me to wear anything else. That is my love for  the Aviators like million others.                                                                        A week back I was in Jaipur for a couple of days with my wife. As the sun became slanting towards the evening we decided to go to Jal Mahal ( Lake Palace ) a nearby destination from my Hotel.  I intelligently kept my DSLR in a laptop bag to avoid Autowala taking us for tourist and inflating the fare. But Mr. RayBan Aviator was at work to cool my eyes.  The very first Auto Rikshaw guy I encountered on my way offered me a fare of  Rs 200. Now 200 rupees is whoo

Women Welcome Wello

Image
Source: Google Images There are people who react to others pain by feeling sorry and compassionate, a next set of people do not even realize the pain of others at the first place. But then there is a small chunk of people who walk miles ahead of merely realizing the pain but also work towards alleviating the pain and making lives comfortable for millions. We all have seen images of rural Rajasthan women carrying water pots over their heads to miles down their home. Some of us have even been luckier to see those burdened women with direct eyes. But seldom do we realize the trouble and pain experienced by them. A nation that is technologically competent enough to produce its own indigenous Radars, Aircrafts and advance Missiles fails to think anything creative to bring a sigh of relief to those poor rural girls. We have no issues in seeing them like that. The Plight : A majority of us don't think twice before turning on a faucet and seeing potable water p

Road to Exhilaration -- The Drive of Five.

Image
Thank you Ambi Pur for giving me an opportunity to share an eternal road trip of my life. Teach India campaign by Times of India Group gave a blissful opportunity to many middle class educated people to realise their dream of teaching the underprivileged. We are born and then brought up by parents with elaborated educational degrees to grab the best jobs of the world. Eventually when we start earning handsome salaries we realise the importance of education and also the hidden reason why our parents sacrificed their happiness and murdered many of our own happiness in dictating and stressing upon the importance of Education. Not even a year at job and you come to a position where you can apply for a car loan with an EMI that is more than twice the monthly salary of a labourer. Then surely education proves it mettle. As I was working with a firm that was located at a remote corner of Rajasthan State I could not get connected with the campaign through the designated NGOs. B
