Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai

Image
T his post is dedicated to introducing my Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai . I have made this podcast with an intention to connect to people through my voice. This is not only a means of sharing my views and stories with the world but is also a medium to talk to myself.   A podcast is a good medium to connect with people as it does not demand the attention of your eyes; all it wants from you is to lend your ears. Often when you are commuting on a bus or in a metro, listening to a podcast can be a great idea: All you need is an earphone and bingo! My Podcast - Bus Kahani Hai has a Trailer as an introduction and episodes that are published from time to time. All the episodes so far have been archived below with dedicated links for one-click listening. Also, it is my humble request to leave your valuable feedback and comments on this post or on my  Instagram page   https://www.instagram.com/neoimaginations/     Twitter handle  Bus Kahani Hai              Latest Episodes Episode 4 : Khidki Ke Baa

#WashBucketChallenge

As the various civilizations evolved around the world, the rule of fittest to survive shaped the life style and responsibility in social life. Task that were physically tough in nature were shared by men where as the ones that needed patience and relatively less physical strength were taken up by women with few exceptions of course.  But it is difficult to understand why the task of doing laundry predominantly fell to women only. Being a healthy man I myself find it difficult and tiring doing the laundry. All though washing machines have added convenience but still the mere thought of washing clothes can make one tired.  I am thankful that my upbringing at home was such that as men we were always encouraged to do laundry as and when possible. I developed this task as a way of life and  as a to-do point of weekend task. After my marriage, I educated my wife about precautions and washing care for different types of fabric. The cotton whites are to be respected the most with utmost

Missed Call Mania

Image
Mobile phones have been the greatest revolution in the era of communication. The complete world has become a neighborhood. You might be in India and still remain in 24 hrs contact with a friend in Sydney through calls or chat and that too at a cost of a burger. Thanks to apps like Whatsapp ! The continents are just a ping away. Life is close, simple and convenient.  With the advent of mobile phones came the most affordable means of communication called "Missed Call". A missed call only meant the call that went unattended. But that just remained a terminology. And Missed calls kept touching different sections of society in different manners and finally took a form of a language that is understood by different users with their own different meanings.  In 2003, when calls were expensive and we were poor students, a missed call had  meanings like I am waiting outside your house or meet me at the bus stop. It was a means of virtually knocking a friends door with

If You Live to Eat, then Singapore is a Treat !!

If holidaying is all about eating, shopping and exploring, then Singapore is a sure paradise for you.  Singapore has a variety of cuisines to tease your taste buds and indulge into sinful eating. From serene hotels to calm beaches, from bustling shopping malls to enticing eat streets, from romantic coffee shops to beautiful countrysides; Singapore has it all ! If eating, shopping and drinking is your idea of a perfect holiday, then this is where you should swipe your magnetic cards.   My personal favorite is Singaporean Chicken Rice. A complete meal that can be savored anytime of the day. A dish consisting of steamed  rice and slices of juicy tender chicken. The steamed rice is drizzled with a generous amount of sweet dark sauce and the chicken dressed in chilli sauce makes a lethal combination. A dollop of minced ginger on top of it adds the remaining flavour to satiate all your taste buds at once.  Singaporean Chicken Rice     I know words are hard to believ

The Optimistic Touch

The joy of life is with people who love you and understand you. They are the ones who can listen to you for hours with interest and fondness.  They are reliable and sources of inspiration for friendship and life.  I have known Ajay for close to four years. It was in the year 2010 when we got a chance to work together. Though we were a part of different projects but our  wavelength  matched so well that we developed respect and fondness for each other in no time. Ajay was my senior and I never missed a chance to pay him his due respect. We were people of  different taste and approach but had a common passion for  life. Ajay was a man of books and knowledge and I was appropriately a jerk who loved life living on the edge. Ajay was matured and composed but I was spontaneous and restless. Doing eccentric things gave me pleasure but to many others it meant stupidity. Ajay always saw the optimistic side of my behavior which the world saw otherwise. He had a very wide angle of ju

Bold for Better

Life is not a bed of roses and it should not be a one ever. Alternate shades of tough times only make happiness more realizable and satisfying. But it takes a lot of contemplation to take that decision which may have otherwise effects on your career and growth. I recently got into a situation where I had to confront my immediate boss on an issue. We were a team of eight people and everyone had a common complaint that our immediate boss was not acknowledging our efforts and work output. He always criticized us on petty issues and never verbally appreciated our efforts. The morale was obviously down. He never highlighted out achievements and on the contrary created stress and unsatisfaction in the team.  Although everybody was spiteful of him but nobody wanted to offend him considering the repercussions of objection. Everyday we dedicated time to vent out our anger by abusing him during casual tea breaks. This somehow eased the negativity and optimized us to bear him and work

Opportunities Unlimited !! Just Look Up

Aimless was a  perfect one word substitution for me. It not only defined me in nutshell but was also the Joie de Vivre  of my life. Although I was professionally sound and focused but in personal life I never took myself seriously. May be this was the reason I was doing good in professional life.  It is one sort of a kick to get up every morning to discover you have no personal goals to fight for or be burdened under the guilt of negative deviations. Whenever I found the time to think in the direction of personal life i made it a point to freak out with friends.  But I knew the fact that I was going wrong. I was avoiding something that would start haunting me if I don't respect it further. I knew I was already late in making my future financial plans. A decade of job and I had absolutely no savings to even gather my guts to peep into the bastion of future planning. So instead of facing the problem I made a fake euphoria around me that everything was absolutely normal and futu

" It is not about what you do but how you do it !! '' This was her favourite line and  religiously preached by her at least twice a day in college. A perfect cliche' to her identity ! By the time we passed the first year of college, the cliched line was an occasion for our group to sing in chorus to complete the remaining line as soon as she uttered the first word of her trademark cliche'. The monotony of this line however  could not stop me from falling in love with her. I knew I was falling free under the gravity of her love alone. A feeling I can relate to descending in a lift from the highest floor, of course with my eyes closed. Open eyes to me is a compromise to such divine feelings. By the time I could realize what was happening to me, I was already in a trance dancing around the fire of her aura. I did not feel like coming out of it anytime. Apparently, I was living the best days of my adolescence. But dancing alone cannot be an everlasting joy

The Second Chance

It is true that we carry the pain of past and postpone the most valuable plans for the future. But future is unseen, unknown and still  worst Uncertain. We never know the breaking point between  present and future. So don't we fear postponing certain decisions that are more apt to be taken today ? Here are three things that I have been putting off for the future and would do right now if given a chance. 1. Child Investment  Plan: This is the first thing on my priority list. But I keep on pushing it to next month for want of time and research. I understand how important it is to plan the future of my child when the time is right and favorable. There are a plethora of options but I want to sit together for weeks and pick the right one for me. I wish to get that luxury of time to gift something fruitful to my child when he is a grown-up.  This surely needs my immediate attention. 2. Pursue PhD degree: I have been a lover of knowledge and books. I cant live without lea

The new generation of smart Buyers and Sellers have a common meeting point called Quikr. This forum is a one stop kiosk to Buy and Sell all your needs under a single roof of Symbiosis . If you have less space at home to stuff new things, you need not to excuse the thought. Because the forum also caters for selling off your used but valuable items that million others are aspiring to own. So what next ?   Bech Qikr !!! I am an avid user of this wonderful application and proud to admit that some of my best buys are the outcome of Quikr.com  . The tool is sure to bring revolution in the field of dealing and negotiation. 3 Reasons Why I would prefer Chat over a Phone Call          1.  Ease of Time : On week days I usually get free by

Pimple, Plight and People

There are only a handful blessed soul who do not undergo the wrath of pimples and acne during their puberty. For others it is painful face and loads of unnecessary advice by people around. How much ever you try to avoid the thought of those protrusions on your face in order to keep your hands away from breaking them but every soul around you will remind of it at the slightest excuse.  To me it was the same. Like every teenager i too was a victim of acne and pimples. But pimples bothered me far less than the so called well wishers of my life. I have few experiences to share my journey of pimples and I am very sure many of you would connect with my encounters. After all we live in the same world. Five Silly Tips I was offered 1. Apply saliva on pimples as soon as you get up in the morning. To me it did not make sense. How can some one without brushing his teeth even think of doing this task.  2. After meals rub your unwashed hand on the face  so that the food can f

For Prequel click here Ankit's excited voice filled her heart with joys of yesteryear. She had waited all these 3 years  hoping he would someday reappear with past resolved and simplified to walk again hand in hand. But some dreams are far, far and yet truly lovely. Mira: ( After a pause ) I recognized your voice right from the word you said hello. But over the years i have learnt the art of controlling my emotions. I am no more the girl you left three years before. But when you don't let your emotions to rule you, you become restless. And I had been restless to call you. I know I had to talk to you. Ankit: Hmm... You sound really matured. I see you have a lot of understanding about yourself.           Introspection. A word we used to discuss at college canteen has become so practical in you.  Mira: Yes indeed. Ankit; So how you doing? Mira: Do you even care ? Ankit: Do you even bother if I care ? Mira: So you think I have become like you were always
